71st Annual General Meeting
TEAM held its 71st AGM at Hilton Shah Alam Glenmarie on 24 April 2026.

The meeting commenced with a minute of silence in remembrance of our late member, Mr Ganasen Moorthi, Deputy Chairman of The Malaysian Panel-Products Manufacturers’ Association (MPMA) and General Manager of HeveaBoard Bhd, in recognition of his valuable contributions to the industry.

The AGM also saw the re-election of Mr Chua Song Fong as President of TEAM, and the association welcomed newly elected Committee Member Ms YunLu Lee representing Authentic Timber Resources Sdn Bhd.

TEAM extends its sincere appreciation to Puan Sophia Badaruddin, Senior Assistant Director of Customs II, together with Tuan Ariff Yusoff and Tuan Hamzi Hamedan, Assistant Directors of Customs from the Royal Customs Department of Malaysia, for the insightful SST talk and engaging Q&A session. The Customs Department welcomed further enquiries from TEAM members on issues related to SST moving forward.

TEAM extends its sincere appreciation to the Presidents, Chairmen and representatives of various associations present, including Mr Tan Peng Juan (STIA & MTA), Mr Ng Boon Kuan (MWMJC), Ms Yii Yien Yien (STA), Mr Fong Ming San (TAS), Mr Wahid Jaafar (TIF & PEKA), as well as Mr Mokhtar Mohd Yaccob, Deputy CEO of MTC. Special thanks are also extended to the officers of MTIB, the Forestry Department Peninsular Malaysia and FRIM for their presence and support.

TEAM reaffirmed its support for the exemption of sawn timber (HS 4407) from the expanded SST scope.
Sawmill members were also advised by the Customs Department to register as Registered Manufacturers (RM).

The event ended with a joyful and enjoyable Get-Together dinner.
