On 29th July 2024, Mr Chua SF, President of TEAM and his Committee, together with two invited members visited the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JPSM) to meet Dato’ Mohd Rahim bin Rani, Deputy Director-General of Forestry (Policy and Planning) to engage in technical discussions about the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) compliance.
Mr Chua SF presented the significant concerns from the industry including:
1. Tree species (scientific name)
2. Geo-coordinates
3. Time range of harvest
4. Deforestation-free evidence
5. EUDR cut-off date
6. Unsold stock purchased before cut-off date
7. Documents required by EU importers
